First of all, NFL Fever 2002 looks fantastic. This game was made from the ground up to take advantage of the Xbox's superior hardware and it shows. Everything from the players to the grass is handled with the most detailed textures seen in a football videogame. Unfortunately for Fever, good graphics do not guarantee a good game. The passing system is awful, with lob passes resulting in the ball going almost straight up in the air and allowing every defender in the area to easily converge on the receiver. Also, the defesive A.I. can be very bad with defensive backs letting receivers run right by them for easy catches. The animations are a bit limited as well, so be prepared to see the same tackling animatins over and over. Fever 2002 has its share of problems, but underneath them all is a solid foundation that, if tweaked correctly, could result in a great football game.
