Gothic has a lot of neat ideas, but It just doesn't hold together for me.
The interface is terrible. Just terrible. I've played a lot of games on a lot of platforms and I can't remember the last time I had to fight an interface so hard.
There's no character creation. You can't decide anything about your character in the beginning. In an RPG, especially a third-person one, this is a big drawback for me.
There are almost no female characters anywhere in the game, and you can't play a female character.
