I was skeptical when I picked up Operation Genesis. But if any game would work in the JP universe, it would have to be this one. A pretty fun game at the outset, JP:OG becomes frustrating in the end.
You know what the game is about. John Hammond hires you to build a Jurassic Park. You have members of the film's cast at your disposal to help you find dinosaur fossils and to keep your dinosaurs healthy. Once you have your sight picked, your goal is to build a five-star park, which you attain by building rides, making money and keeping customers happy.
The controls are pretty solid, the sound is great with authentic movie sounds and the John Williams score, and the graphics are very serviceable. The major downer with Operation Genesis is that you can only facilitate 9-11 dinosaurs in any one park at one time. I called tech support at Universal, and they told me it was due to PS2 memory limitations.
The game is fun, but if you own a PC or an XBOX, be sure you go with one of those versions.
