I have to admit. The first time I saw a friend playing this game I thought he was playing a Power Rangers game.
Once I got my turn to try it out I was hooked. It all starts comfortably enough in a peaceful village called Lahan. Fei, the main character, finds himself in this village without any memory at all of what has happened in his past. Things then go from bad to worse for the poor man as the plot is full of twists and turns.
The story is definetly the key element for this game. It is very complicated so anyone under the age of 12 may have a difficult time taking it all in. It also may take you a couple of times through the game to get all of the details as it is very complicated.
The graphics were average, but not really anything special. The characters look pretty blocky and you can see the polygons in some of the environments that you run around in.
The Gameplay is also very good. Whether you're participating in a gear or hand-to-hand tournament, or a fight with a wel it all comes together nicely. The only thing that bogs it down is the picky jumping skills you have to do in this game, which often cause you to fall down several stories of a cave and have to go up that same trail again. What makes this even worse is the random battles, and boy there are a lot of them.
I thoroughly enjoyed this game from squaresoft. I highly recommend it.
