When I first heard about Sonic Advance, I thought it'd be better than this... I am a bit dissapointed by the lack of similarity from the first one, for that is what I heard it was to be like. A port from the Genesis. Actually, this was really hard to believe. I mean, a port from SEGA Genesis to NINTENDO Game Boy Advance? Weren't they once mortal enemies in the console wars? Just goes to show you how quickly the tables can turn, I guess...
Anyway, This game isn't really a PORT from the Genesis, as promised. It's more of an attempt at making a better version of the Genesis original. (Which failed, in my opinion.) I don't like the lack of levels from the first one, I don't really like the "Tiny Chao Garden", and the controls are hard to follow (especially for Amy).
But, of course, there are also its strong points. I do like the fact that Tails can be both a stand alone character OR he can follow you around. This kind of gives you the best of both worlds. The graphics were good. Not great, but good. The music was good, and I found it to have a high replay value, with four characters and the Chao gems and all.
Overall, this game was a pretty solid title, although FAR, FAR away from what I was told it would be. 79/100
