A kid in a loin cloth running around hitting things with a stick. Might sound kinda lame at first, but this game is surprisingly fun.. at first.
You get to collect a bunch of feathers and other "cool" items throughout the game. You get to collect.. and collect.. and collect, and collect some more. Yeah, that can get kinda lame, but hey! Take has cool catch phrases! When you kill an enemy, or get hit by one, you will hear a number of catch phrases like, "Who's the man?" and "That's gonna leave a mark!" These can be amusing and funny at first, but as you play into the game, they can get repetitive and annoying.
The graphics are what should be expected of a next-gen console, and the story is a bit odd to me, but it carries you along well enough so it isn't confusing or too perplexing. It's all pretty straight forward, and a background voice will guide you and give you hints along the way, so it's not too easy to get lost.
I haven't played through the entire game, but from what I've seen so far there isn't much variation when it comes to enemies. Nergels (not sure on the spelling here) are to this game like mosquitos are to a summer night. These Nergels are a sort of small dinosaur/dog type creature. They hide in a lot of jars and crates in the game, carry bombs, and roam the not-so-vast country side. Which brings us to the level design; I don't care for it. Almost all of the levels are a series of small blocks spaced apart and levitated high above the um.. abyss, and missing a jump could mean starting the level over.
In conclusion, after all the ups and downs, the game features some neat puzzles, some adventures and small side quests, and it's really not too bad when it comes down to it. You may want to rent it before you decide on a purchase. I give it an 8 out of 10.
