This is easily my favorite computer game. I have been a pen and paper RPG gamer since I was a little kid. But as a I grew up it became harder to find groups to play with. I looked to computer games to try to fill that RPG niche, but no game ever fit perfectly; until Baldur's Gate.
For the time period, the graphics are great, as well as the sound. But where the game excels, is the storyline and character development. The story is addictive. And one has a lot of freedom as to what direction to take the story. I didn't feel bulldozed into doing things like the way many consoles RPGs do things.
