I beat Soul Reaver 2 in only 4 times playing it. Granted each time I played it was for multiple hours but this game is still way too short. I picked it up because I really enjoyed the first one and wanted to see how the story ended. Well guess what? The story DOESN'T end. It gets needlessly convulted and almost impossible to follow and then just when you think it's all about to come to a finish...it doesn't. The game ends with no real ending, just like the first Soul Reaver. Pathetic. There seems to be more narrative than actual gameplay here and while the voice acting is excellent, I think most people buy games to play something, not to watch an interactive movie. In the end, I honestly think the first Soul Reaver is better. It had a great storyline that didn't beat you over the head, lots of interesting puzzles and bosses (no bosses in #2!), it took me easily twice as long to beat and was just simply more fun. Don't get me wrong, Soul Reaver 2 isn't that bad, it's just not half of what it could've been and while I considered giving it a higher score because I enjoyed playing it, in the end I just can't. It disappointed me far too much to deserve anything more than a 6. If you liked the first Soul Reaver and you find this for 15 bucks or under you might want to pick it up. Otherwise I'd reccommend just staying clear. I still can't believe they didn't finish the story...
