I was a bit skeptical about Kung Fu Chaos as I am about any fighting game. I am not a fan of the genre, but I decided to give this one a try. It promised humor and addictive gameplay.
The humor in the game was almost nonexistent. I don't think I laughed once. And the only thing that kept me playing was the fact that I spent money to rent it, I wanted to give it a fair chance and the collector in me had to try to get all of the items unlocked.
Now the gameplay consisted of a few moves and the are basically the same for each character. It was simple to learn. Other than that however, the levels themselves were difficult at times, but fun in a challenging, throw a controller kind of way. Cheap deaths follow you at every turn. The levels were well done in a theme of a type of movie and stuck with it very well adding in a mini-game every so often to break up the constant fighting.
Graphics were good and the animation of everything was smooth. Everything flowed well. The voice acting was good, but the lines the actor was given were just beyond lame. Don't even get me started on the ending movies!! I still am in therapy...funny, but creepy.
The music was good and any time you are in a fight and hear the classic Kung Fu Fighting song you know it will be a good match!
So in conclusion, if you are into a simple to learn, but difficult to beat fighter that you can play with a few friends and you don't mind only having about 4 moves per character, then this could be your game. Personally, I not only would not buy this game, but I will never rent it again.
