(Things to know before I start with the actual review: In Europe Viewtiful Joe came in a multi coulored boxes where you can either pick up the red box or the yellow one and both features the same game so you won't have to worry. In Japan a new version is being released and called Viewtiful joe: Popular Edition were it features and easier difficulty for gamers called Sweet in other words, Easy!)
Capcom is trying to make GC owners life Viewtiful and it's working with Viewtiful Joe owners! It's a 2D scrolling cel shaded game at it's top! To me it's the best 2D game so far. You go around in this game playing as Joe who is the hero of the story, or should I saw movie. Joe took his Girlfriend Silvia on a date to watch a movie. A movie he's always wanted to see. Silvia is a sexy and romantic babe and enjoys her time with Joe. In this date Joe seems to be more interested in the movies going on's and ignores Silvias requests to make up for a romantic weather. She tries for a couple of times and kisses him and while doing so his hero of the movie looses the battle and the evil wins. Captain Blue is Joe's favourite character and after Joe realises that he's missed the most important part thanks to his girlfriend he seems depressed. Suddenly Catain Blue in his huge robot is thrown out of the screen and crashes on top of the empty seats in the hall where Joe and Silvia are watching. The evil shows up, brings out his hand and takes Silvia! She calls for help but Joe is helpless now! He draws her into the movie. Captain Blue gets up, takes Joe in his hand and flies into the movie too. Now both Joe and Silvia are swallown into the movie and there you start you game playing as Joe in his human for as he recieves his V watch. You'll find many funny speeches throughout the game as in the first encounter with Captain Blue's ghost and it was an emotional one too, Joe will say "Can I have your autography please"! You'll fight of some basic enemies till you get to change into the hero who is noe Viewtiful Joe! By changing into that form you become more powerful, you can double jump, etc. Here as you are the hero of the movie, your aim is to save your girlfriend Sylvia and save the world. You'll go through many environments and fight tough bosses like the cool Hulk Davidson or Charles the 3rd. All characters have their own personalities, speeches and they look great. There are two difficulty settings at the beginning, Adults and Kids where Kids is easy and Adults is Normal. You can unlock harder difficulties too.
Gameplay (10/10):
Ok this game has a unique gameplay system. The fighting engine here is top notch and combos can be performed with 'X' kicking and 'Y' punching. Though, you can also learn the 3 upgradable main features the game offers which includes the Slow Motion, Mach Speed and a Pose feature. The slow motion (L button) slows time enabling you to dodge attacks and bullets in a Matrix style way and cause more damge than real time. The Mach Speed (R button) is the fast feature where you must react quickly, it's like a fast forward thing and you can gain power as you fire up when hitting a lot. The Pose feature (B button) is a feature which brings zooms in and allows you to perform different attacks like spinning kicks. There will be a meter on the top of the screen and it identicates the power you have. You can use your special abilities to must watch out for the meter as if it finishes you turn back to Joe. The meter refills automatically when you return to the real environment screen so don't worry about the refilling thing. You can double jump here and must collect Viewtiful points as tokens of money. You can collect other icons to make the meter bigger. There must always be a blue coloured part of the full meter, this recovers while the green coloured small blocks are finished when you use them and can't be refilled automatically. After you finish each level for semi level you go to the save, power up menu for a break. You can buy useful items, upgrades and health items from the power up section. While you offcourse know what the save section does. The controls are simple here and easily mastered and contains enough ammount of depth which pleases all gamers.
Graphics (10/10):
Beautiful 2D cel shaded environments. They are huge, well designed and neat. There are several different environments going from the swears to inside of a business building and into the streets. It has a lovely teen cartoonish characters and environments. The characters looks stylish and they fit in the game as movie stars and characters. There are several types of enemies and you don't go on fighting the same looking ones but the enemies looks like they are from the same family. To sum up Viewtiful Joe's graphics then imagine the best looking 2D cel-shaded game and the most stylish one too and you'll reach Viewtiful Joe.
Sound (10/10):
Tell me can it be any better? Well recently I don't think so! It's top notch with the feel and atmosphere of a movie where when you hit the pause button the guy says something like going to the toilet. All speeches are well fitted and there are always some funny speeches to ass to the movie atmosphere of the game. Each main character has his own personality including the bad guys as Hulk Davidson is played by like a rich important rapper with comments like "Dude" and "Wasup"! And he owns a big business building! Other characters like the Shark with his british accent and "Mate" comment. The characters are play well and can't be better can it?! Sylvia sounds romantic as she tries to get into Joes head and Joe sounds that type of a teen guy. In other words the game sounds great.
Life-Span (9/10):
You'll keep playing the game over and over to unlock what it has to offer from extra difficulty settings to extra playable characters. The game offers it's challenging moments in a non frustrating way and is top fun to play. You'll enjoy it's looks, gameplay and comments. the story is just impressive as you find out how a journey to save your girlfriend ended up in saving the world! You may not purchase and find out what the power up (shop) has to offer at the first time. The gameplay actually is addicting and will bring you several times back. Plenty moves and fun to master.

Simply, the ultimate 2D game. Simply, one of the most qualified and impressive as well as must have GC titles. Simply, appeals to all ages and most gamers. It's a well sppreciated 2D cel shaded game made by Capcom. The game has it's unforgettable moments. The graphics are nice and lovely, the soundtrack of the game is nice and the sounds and voices in the game are top notch! Funny comments and several cool personalities in a comic way makes it an essential. The gameplay is addictive and you'll come back again and again to play this game not just to unlock the several unlockables but for the fun of it!
Advice:
It's essential to all GC owners. It's even worth getting a GC for as it's cheap now! If you're not Viewtiful then you are simply missing out a lot!

1- You have the slow motion, mach speed and Pose features which are unique.
2- The different personalities and various funny and cool comments are top notch.
3- The Best 2D game!

5- Addictive gameplay.
6- The game features nice twists with all challenging moment in a non frustrating way.

Bad Points:
1- Well nothing to think about but lack of weapons maybe one!
2- Can be too difficult for some easy gamers!
