This game is a good mix of Zelda-style action, arwing missions, and strange rides on dinosaurs - especially on the Dragon Rock level.
The game is fairly long for most gamecube games so far - it took me 22 hours to get to the final boss (haven't beat him yet).
The graphics and music are awesome, and the voice acting, though annoying, is at least better than starfox 64. The graphics are the best I've seen on the gamecube yet.
I really enjoyed playing through this game. It's not terribly hard, although some of the bosses can be challenging. However, none of the bosses cross the line to becoming frustrating. This is one of the few games nowadays that I was able to play through without a guide.
Overall, I think Rare did a good job converting the game to the Starfox license. Well worth the long wait.
