I've been playing first person shooters since their advent and I must say that DICE and EA have a winner with Battlefield 1942.
The thing that sets this game apart is the use of
very different vehicles - from airplanes to ships to jeeps, etc. Not just that, but two or more people can man a vehicle in multiplayer mode as say a gunner and driver or bomber and pilot.
The first version of this game had ALOT of bugs, but version 1.3 is out and has almost all of the hassles fixed.
A sweet bonus is the ability to completely mod this game. I've downloaded a mod in beta called Desert Combat which has turned the game into a modern battlefield with F16s and AH64 choppers!
I see a great future for this game. A must buy!
