Evolution 2 is a lot like Evolution 1, the main town is different, there is more variety in the non-dungeon aspects of the game, there is one more character to use, they added awesome Japanese voice acting, and the story is a little bit less charming and more dark. They also added a list system that allows you to track the completeness of your item collection. The graphics are slightly improved, although I much prefer the Linear with cute purple eyes and a somewhat less odd looking head, I like all of the rest of the characters new looks. The main problem I had with this game is the lack of the random dungeons that were present in the first game. Because of this change I cannot say that this game is any better than the original Evolution, even with the numerous improvements. Also rather than add to the old cyframes you could find, they seem to have mostly tossed out the old ones or changed the special attacks that they perform, and I missed some of my favorite cyframes a lot. Furthermore, they made Gre worthless by removing his attack spells and giving him more support spells. I am not a support spells kind of girl. The new dungeons are not really all that engaging, proving that random dungeons are always more fun than static dungeons that require you to do a lot of backtracking and therefore require you to fight a lot more easy battles than you really want to and that have little creativity in their design. The good part is that there is a tower that you can play through as much as you want that consists entirely of randomly generated dungeons, which saved to game for me. I had a lot of fun with this game and I am sure that most RPG fans will as well. At its current price I recommend this game to all DC owners who enjoy RPG's.
