This is a very tight game. I am continually impressed with THQ's abilities to do solid motorcycle titles. This game is perfect for people interested in bikes and looking to get a game with a relatively low learning curve they could enjoy right away. The controls are very realistic and but also intuitive and bare-bones.
The most rewarding part of this game is how forgiving it is. If you wipeout and then barrel down on the opposition Moto GP will let you catch up eventually. Some other titles that claim to be the ultimate sims are unforgiving whereas even a single small miscue can wreck the entire race (Sega GT 2002 is the worst such example).
So for those of you equally looking for realism and fun gameplay Moto GP will provide the best mixture of both. The graphics and the sound are sweet, playing this title on LIVE is sweeter. The competitive modes are deep – you can do a tourney, campaign, endurance test, quick race… you name it.
The one drawback is that I wasn't too compelled to come back to Moto GP after having won often in succession. Like most other bike titles, this game doesn't come with a premier replay value.
