After reading the IGN review (92%) I decided to buy this game. Even though the graphics are crap (when this was released 5 years ago the graphics would still be considered crap), the gameplay will be great. But this game is one of the most disappointing game ever.
All you see are numbers, some elements are never explained (did I already mention that the manual is crap too?). All you have to do is leaving everything to the AI en press the 'end turn' button. Some things just don't make sense. For example, you build a nice relationship with another civilization, but suddenly they declare war on you for no reason at all, at least they don't tell you why.
Look, the graphics are not the point, even 'spreadsheet' games can be real fun (Championship manager, the gamers in Europe will know what I am talking about). Some might argue that this is a hardcore strategy game, but even those have to be fun and this game is just not.
