In a word - DISSAPOINTING !! Dont waste your money buying - rent it - if u must!!
I was hoping this game would take me away from my (unhealthy !!) obsession with Splinter Cell - how wrong i was.
Gameplay is extremely dull and repetative. Level design is derivative and totally lacking imagination. Puzzles are... well...there!!.
The fighting engine is ok - taken as it is from the 'Buffy' game but this gets dull very fast as you 'button mash' your way through another tiresome level.
The game may use a modified 'Buffy' engine but at least with the Buffy game they captured the feel (and fun) of the TV show - unlike this pitiful 'Indy' effort.
Movement of Indy in the game is clumsy at best and the camera angles are not much better. Even the camera 'lens' is the wrong 'size' as Indy seems much too big - leaving the player not being able to 'pull back' to see what the hell is going on around them.
(Unlike the superb 'Ico' on the PS2)
The 'camera' even swings backward and forward when Indy is himself swinging with his whip - how sad - and nauseating!!
In the end it has none of the charm or magic of the first few Lara Croft adventures. Pity.
( All game makers take note - please just use the modified 'Unreal' engine that Ubi Soft developed for Splinter Cell for '3rd person' adventures - its faultless!! )
The music is very 'cinematic' though and the sound design is pretty good too. Well done the sound department at "Sky Walker' sound !! lol
Oh well - another dissapointing Xbox title. Another in a VERY long list!! If it wasnt for Splinter Cell my Xbox would be sold already!!
Have to wait for the new Tomb Raider game on PS2 for some real fun in this arena - as Lara and the gang at Eidos will hopefully still be able to make something abit special - although with all the delays on its release even this seems in doubt.
At least i'll have some new levels to download for Splinter Cell soon though - through Xbox Live!! :O)
