Waiting on the next THPS game for an extreme game fan often means waiting with nothing but nasty subpar clones trying to bid for your dollar. Thankfully, Aggressive Inline doesn't quite fit the mold. Smart gameplay features, killer soundtrack, and huge career mode pushes AI to the front of the line.
Graphically, Aggressive Inline kills all extreme sports titles to date. Movements in the levels are fluid, with few glitches in the graphic speed. I thought the areas were well detailed, more so than the THPS series has yet to show.
I've always hated soundtracks on extreme sports games, but I managed to even find a few songs I love on AI. There is a nice variety in songs, giving something for people of many different tastes to listen to.
There is a lot of gameplay to swallow in AI, there are so many objectives in these huge levels. There is a lot to keep coming back too. Also something interesting to note is the way your character "levels up". I think this is a great way to really make a character the way you need them to be based on what you do.
Alas, AI will always been seen as Tony Hawk's on inline skates, but don't believe it. In many ways, AI outshines THPS. If you enjoy extreme sports at all, this game is an absolute buy.
