If anyone said that DOA 3 has no competition on the PS2, they need to checkl themselves before they Wreck themselves.

Not that this game is anything like DOA 3 but it is definitely comparable in fun and gameplay and value to the game that we all know and lust...  love.

I got this game for fourteen dollars four months ago.  It was a greatest hit and an after thanksgiving slae at Circuit City.  After playing one time I would have paid double or triple for this game.  The graphics are amazing.  They are so fluid and well designed that my mom couldn't say much about them, and she is a huge critic of Video Game graphics.  She said that these people actually look human and not like giant box men.  I have to agree.  Nothing can make or break a game like graphics and this game is definitely made because of the graphics.  The lips of the characters are in synch with the words that they say before and after battles.  The stages are interactive, you can use the walls to attack and even throw or punch opponents into the walls to keep them from fighting back.  My favorite move is one that Sarah Bryant, the Buxom Blonde of the game, can do when she faces a wall.  She jumps onto it, rebounds off and kicks the opponent in the head knocking them down for another attack.  Also some stages break with constant fighting on it or the background changes or the ground breaks apart with constant knockdowns.

The stages are good as well as the moves for each character.  There are many many throws, striking attacks, counters, escapes, and other cool moves for each character.  You can spend a ton of time just learning half of the moves of a single character.  It is also easy for beginners to play with its simple button assignments but complex ways to use them if you are an expert.  I spent about a whole day playing this with my friends over Christmas Break and we loved the challenge and simplicity of the controls and moves of the characters.

There is a mode where you can coach an A.I character and fight yours against other people's AIs.  This is a great aspect of the game and ads to the just fighting feel of it.

The music on this game is great too because it matches the background and the fight.  You get into it when playing.

Overall this game is a must buy and a 10/10.  No questions asked.  DOA, watch out, Virtua Fighter is coming back and making its move and it's moving fast.
