The Wind Waker came under heavy fire even before it was released because of the new cel shading. Wheather you like or don't you have to agree that the game was quite amazing.
You start off as Link and he witnesses a giant bird carrying someone. The person is dropped off in the woods and you go up to investigate. You rescue her and find out that her name is Tetra and that she is a Pirate. While talking to Tetra you see your sister getting snatched up and taken away by the bird. For helping Tetra she offers to take you out to where the bird lives and your quest begins.
First I would like to say that I would have rather seen Zelda in regular graphics but the cel shading didn't make that big of a difference to me. The game handled just like Ocarina of time but I didn't like how the C-stick controlled it just felt like a hassle. But other than that handling was great. With the cel shading you could see some detail and there were a lot of cool colors put into the game.
The story was quite good but before the game came out Nintendo made it seem that the entire game was about trying to save your sister and you do have to do that but it is definitly not the main concern. I liked how the sea was a new element but it got boring real fast having to sail back and forth across the huge ocean.
Wind Waker was a great Zelda game but just missed on a few key things. And for the people that don't like the cel shading that's fine because I would have rather had normal graphics too but at least give the shading a chance before you knock it. It is really not that bad.
