I won't re-tell about how good these games are and the story behind the plots, etc. Unless you have been living under a large rock for the last few years, you know all about the Grand Theft Auto series. The main draw here is that you are getting two games for the price of one. You are getting them on the Xbox, where they were not available before. And you are getting them with updated graphics that really do look nice.
I think the sheer fact that you can get both of these games at a discount price was a genius idea by Rockstar. I have always thought these games were a bit overrated (espcially Vice City), but you just can't beat this deal. To be quite honest, I didn't go nuts over these two games when they were on the PS2. For some reason, I just couldn't get into them. After playing this double pack, I am glad I gave them a second try.
My only complaint is that trying to play both games back-to-back was a chore, of sorts. I just felt like I was all Grand Theft Auto'd out. The games are very similar in their mission structure. And you end up doing many of the same types of missions over and over. I know these games came out about a year apart, and I think that would be a better way to play them. By the middle of Vice City, I was thinking that if I had to chase down another guy on a motorcycle, I would take the game and use it as a frisbee. That might be kind of harsh, but more mission variety between the two titles would have been nice.
That would be my only complaint about this double pack. And that was more my doing that the developer's. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a great deal and get updated versions of these two great games. And for you Xbox faithful, this is a must-buy while you wait for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to arrive.
