I used to play Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament on my old Dreamcast. I actually got pretty good at both and enjoyed them quite a bit. Obviously online play is the key, but they were very fun run-and-gun experiences. Then I got a nice PC and started to play Counter-Strike. Needless to say, that is one of the best shooters of all time. I really got into the tactical aspect of that shooter and I couldn't stop playing it. I haven't really tried a more run-and-gun sci-fi themed shooter since. Until now.....

I will not try to rip into this game and tell you not to buy it. I have read some of the reviews and I agree with most of them. This is a really fun, fast paced, great online shooter. The graphics are really nice. The sound is pretty good. There are a ton of gameplay options for the online gamer. There are a lot of characters to unlock and each one has different abilities.

The problem is that it's just not my kind of game. I prefer the more calm, stragegic, tactical shooters. Of course this is my own fault for buying the game. But at the price of $15-$20, this game is a steal. But only if you have Xbox Live. As with most FPS that are aimed more for the online player, the single-player campaign here is kinda weak. I will give it credit for having a better effort than previous titles, but it's still online play or nothing.
