I am not a racing fan. But I must say, Diddy Kong Racing is a surprisingly great game. The adventure elements added into the game makes the game highly enjoyable. Although lacking in story, Diddy Kong Racing is fun and very challenging.
The Graphics are great. A Game on the Nintendo 64 has not looked better IMO. The developers really put some nice work into this game visually.
The Gameplay is challening and highly entertaining. It is also similiar to Super Mario 64. There is a main world where you can travl around in. You may travel on Kart, HoverCraft, or Plane. There are 5 worlds that contain 4 races on each of them. As you win a race, you collect Golden Ballons. These Golden Ballons serve the same purpose as Stars in Super Mario 64. These Ballons will be needed to unlock more races and stuff. In the main world, there are also hidden Golden Ballons. Each of the Worlds also has an inspiring boss that you must race against.
The Sound is very well done. From Character voices to music, Diddy Kong Racing has relaxing and enjoyable music that never gets annoying.
Diddy Kong Racing overall never gets boring and is very fun to play.
