Killer Instinct Gold is a 2D fighter with 3D character models. The fighting itself is fairly good, with a good amount of different characters to chose from, a good selection of fighting moves and options, a solid training mode, but with the cheapest and not to mention lamest boss I have ever fought.
The buttons on the controller all represent a basic fighting command. Each character also has a selection of super moves. This game also has "combo-breakers" that can be used to get out of a long combo.
Killer Instinct is overall a solid 2D fighter that fighting game fanatics will love to add to their collection.
