Every time a new console comes out, it comes with a fighting game that basically shows off the consoles Horsepower. There is no escaping it, PS2 had Tekken Tag Tournament, Gamecube has Super Smash Brothers Melee, Dreamcast, PSX, and N64 has their respectable first fighters to show off the graphics capabilities, now Xbox has Dead or Alive 3. Dead or Alive 3 takes advantage of the Xbox's raw power which ends in beautiful graphics, the best to date.
However, graphics dont make a game good, this game lacks depth as a fighter, the game has ONE punch button, One kick button, one throw button, and a "Free" button. Needless to say, this kind of button lay-out screams "BUTTON-MASHER" and that is what Dead or Alive 3 can be classified as, A Button-Masher. However, it is a really fun game by all means, the fighting is fast-paced and extremely intense, and some of the throw and counters look cool.
So for those who dont like fighters, this is a good title, but for those like me who are fanatics with fighters and want more strategy in them, it is Better to go with Virtua Fighter 4, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Tao Feng, and in some respects, Tekken 4.
