An overall impressive game, Project Gotham Racing 2 is a good arcade racer. What makes Project Gotham racing so unique as a racing game is mainly the fact that the game isn't all about speed and fast times, the game also awards for driving style.
The graphics are standard for an Xbox exclusive. The Lighting does seem a bit to bright in some areas but I haven't been distracted by the lighting at all as I raced. Each track is different and all add to the overall enjoyment of the game. A wide variety of tracks and real life cars are all here and all look good.
The Gameplay also, it quite good. The usual for any racing game can be found such as the choice of Auto or Manuel transition. Plus there is a single race mode and then there is a decent career mode. In the career mode, the gamer goes through each car series trying to earn platinum awards for each challenge. Each challenge consists of Street Racing, One on One, Cone Challenge, Timed Run, Hot Lap, and a few others. Each mode is different but some can be a little annoying at times. As each challenge is completed, the gamer earns Kudos to be used to unlock new cars.
There is online play as well in PGR2. Simple multiplayer racing and scoreboards that adds to the replay value of this game.
Music and Sound is excellent. A wide variety of tunes can be played as well as excellent sound coming from the cars themselves.
Overall, PRG2 is a great racer. But overall, it is just outdone in every category by RalliSport Challenge 2.
