No matter how you slice it, Lost Kingdoms 2 is far better than the first one. Although the game still seems a tad bit lackluster, it is a fun game in general and RPG fans who have a gamecube should look into this game.
The first thing one will notice is the minor graphical upgrade, the creatures are better to look at and the character models look better. The environments have a better look to it but still dont look all that realistic.
The gameplay is what has been improved significantly, instead of levels, you can now freely roam around a map and chose an area with a deck of 30 cards. There are four card types and 6 elements, Weapon cards are for one attack, Independent cards are one creature that fights any enemy it sees until it is recalled or dies, Summon cards perform devatating attacks only once, and transform cards transform the character into a monster.
People who are looking for a good story are advised to pass this one, as the plot is not origonal and the story itself is a bit lackluster. The main character only has ONE line in the entire game. Plus the main story in general is absurdly short. It only took me 7 hours to finish the main story but there are things to come back for.
All in all, Lost Kingdoms 2 is better than other Action RPGs on Gamecube like Summone, but is not really that great of a game in general in my oppinion. If you are like me and have a lot of other games to play, you'll find no reason to play this game after the 7 hour story mode, others will most likely fall in love with it.
