No Mercy was the second WWF game produced by THQ for the Nintendo 64.
Gameplay - 10
The control scheme featured in No Mercy is the best of any wrestling game ever made. Many of the controls are similar to that of the WCW/now and WWF games produced for the N64 by THQ. The amount of moves available for a person to perform was the most that a wrestling game had seen to date.
Graphics - 6
You have to remember that this game came out in 1999. While the graphics in the game are the best for a N64 wrestling game, they still were not spectacular. It was quite common for two characters to have parts of their bodies go through that of their opponent. The fans that were in the stands were also sub par and could have been improved on.
Sound - 4
The sounds used in No Mercy became monotonous. There was basically no variety for sound used during the matches. You would be better to just mute the sound and play the game with some good old fashioned rock music in the background.
Replay Value - 10
No Mercy provides the user with an enormous amount of reasons to keep coming back. Not only is this game a fun multiplayer game, but it is also a sufficient single player game as well. Some of the gameplay options provided in this game are: Royal Rumble, Create a Pay-Per-View, King of the Ring, Guest Referee, Ladder Match, Iron Man Match, Survival Mode, and Championship Mode. Player were also able to create their own wrestlers and able to give them their own look, moves and identity. This game popularized the mode which has become a standard in all wrestling games that followed. Another feature that kept players coming back was the Smackdown! Mall. Payers could use money they earned during the game to unlock characters, arenas, entrance music, new clothes, and many other things.
Fun Factor - 10
This game was by far the best wrestling game for the N64 was the best ever until the new games for the Playstation 2 were released. To this day the game is still as fun as ever to pick up and play and will stand forever as one of the most revolutionary and groundbreaking wresting games of all time.
