There are many MMORPGs out there at the moment... but this isn't one of them. Planetside offers the oppurtunity to take place in what amounts to a MMOFPS.
Three empires slogging it out for control of 10 continents sometimes with...

PlanetSide is a unique game. It's the first of its kind. It's only the game ever at the time of this writing that allowes the player to participate in a massive online extravaganza of man-slaughter (there is no actual man-slaughter involved, but...

Planetside is a decent enough game. It is pretty stable and has some cool features that you don't find on similar titles like Battlefield 1942 or Quake/Unreal. The question is, does Planetside offer enough over these other titles to pay for the...

Planetside is a good MMOFPS that you don't really have to spend anytime on to get your character up to the high levels like in Diablo or Everquest. A BR20 could die to a BR1. The vehicles in the game are good and same with the guns. Having an...

This is definitely not a game for the solo action fan. Planetside emphasis team-based play more than any other major shooter, even Tribes and Battlefield 1942.
It has solid graphics for a MMOFPS, and I was surprised at how smooth it...

I've been playing PlanetSide since the International beta. When it was around in BETA period, PS was flawless. It had bugs yes but it was really good. Now after 6 patches in 2 months, Planetside is getting redudent. Now all you find is Heavy...

Hmmm... well... I love this game. I just die alot. Everyone I've talked to says the same thing. They love the game, but it's frustrating how often they get whacked. Maybe we just suck at Planetside, but I don't know, after talking to near...

They did a LOT of things right, and I hope they are imitated in future games. The persistent battlefield, "instant action" option, and training systems are all great. If BF1942 had these features I'd never stop playing it.
Team play...

Think about it this way, Planetside and Battlefield 1942 are in the same genre. You do the basic same things in both of them, fight, kill, die, same ole same ole.
Battlefield 1942 is FREE to play online, while Plantside costs $21.99...

Game seems pointless. Capture buildings, lose and recapture. How do you WIN the game? Answer: you can't. Just capture, lose, recapture. The game clearly needs some kind of payoff. It crashes to my desktop repeatedly, too. The "team"...

I have had some great moments in Planetside and some very ....cough...boring moments.
Maybe sharing a good moment will give a good "feel" for the game...
I joined my usual PS server and found a dropship (Galaxy) parked...

If I could sum up the game in one word, it would be "Repetitive". After the initial ooohing and aaahing and trying out all the weapons and vehicles, all that is left is a seemingly endless experience grind. Most of your time online is spent...
