Mario 64 was the nintendo 64's "big" game. Some can even argue it was revolutionary to the platform gaming of today. It makes sense to give Nintendo's newest handheld this great game since the DS can handle it. And boy I am glad they did.
Mario 64 is of course a platform game, and a damn good one at that. I myself got 120 stars on the N64 awhile ago. This game has included 150 stars, plus so many addictive touch screen games, it automatically warrents the $30 to buy this game.
One thing people ask me about is the controls. In my opinon, I liked the analog control of the N64 better, does that change anything, not at all. The controls are inuative, you can use the touch screen to move and reprogram any of the buttons to your liking.
The multiplayer is fun, but a little disapointing. Only one card is needed (which is fantastic) but only 5 maps, and repetitve gameplay dont really help it. I feel as though I'm nitpicking because it isn't that much of a flaw.
The graphics and sound are something to marvel at. The better resolution and powerful graphics engine makes this game much more vivid than the n64 version. The sound is par on too.
I reccommend this game to anyone who has a DS, get it right now and you will not be disapointed in the least.
