Even reviewing this game upsets me. That anyone would want to subject themselves to the national jumilation of a botched audition is beyond me; to further this degradation through the purchase of a video game is ludicrous. The music industry is like Washington: it's all about who you know and what you know. American Idol exists in the golden age of reality television, but the length that an American populace can sustain Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aikens is limited to the breadth of this nation's interest in a given fad. Buy Karaoke Revolution if you want to see how well you can sing; the game's pitch recognition software is top-notch. Avoid American Idol at all costs.
