Critique: Splinter Cell, being the console game/hit of the year is yet another step forward in the Tom Clany world.  Many people have heard of the Tom Clancy games, I'm sure.  Rainbow Six, anyone? Anyways, Splinter Cell offers great realistic gameplay and simply great graphics with an addictive motive to it.
First let's announce the flaws Splinter Cell has.  While this game rocks my world, it is greatly flawed.  One problem with Splinter Cell is the storyline.  The storyline is really jumpy and isn't consistent leaving you with a bland plot line making the game a little less eventful than what it could be.  And let me tell you, you can almost hear a pin drop when you play this game.  I mean O gracious, the sound is so low it is almost impossible to hear sometimes.  Music is scanty; however, there is some terrific voice acting going on.  2 Thumbs up for those actors.  Also, it is always dark.  Hardly is it ever light out.  Honestly, I didn't enjoy usually having to keep my night vision goggles on; I dunno, it was just somewhat annoying I guess.
Now to where Splinter Cell shines like the sun.
Like I said before, the voice acting is great.  For what it is, Splinter Cell has excellent graphics and control.  The realizm is great as well.  The "light" meter that shows how greatly you are exposed is a nice feature and adds for deep gameplay.  Although I complained about this, I enjoyed the overrall extended use of the night vision goggles making the game, once again, more realistic than most action games.  Splinter Cell is a must-buy for anyone.
