Well it took 2 years but GTA has made it's way to the XBOX. This time in a double pack that includes III and Vice City.
As some may know, GTA III was to hit XBOX 2 years ago. That is until that damned Sony deal.
The Grand Theft Auto: Double Pack is a great addition to your XBOX libary, however it is not without it's flaws.
The graphics are improved, but not to mindblowing levels. The game looks great, but there are better lookers out there on the system.
The soundtracks to both games are amazing. GTA III however wins just for Chatterbox. Vice City has two Chatterbox wannabes, KCHAT and VCPR, but neither measure up to the original. Vice City's licenced 80's music is great. From Ozzy Osbourne's "Bark At The Moon" to Micheal Jackson's "Billie Jean".
The Controls are great once you get used to them. No problems here. They are actually better than their PS2 counterparts.
Now even though these games rock and have been polished there are two bugs in Vice City that Rockstar needs to address for future pressings.
1: The people walkng the street and Tommy himself stop making smart-ass remarks about 10 minutes in. This is disapointing, but the game is still fun.
2: The game crashes out of thin air. It's not often. It's really VERY RARE as long as your not using game affecting cheats, such as the tank code. I've crashed once in the past 3 days, but it does happen. Both III and VC are effected by this. However I hope time will fix this one.
All in all the Double Pack is a great buy. If you plan on getting it soon expect a few bugs. If you can wait hold off for a later pressing. However if the bugs don't bother you get it now.
