Mario changes the way we look at games once again.  But this time… he does it in full 3D.  This is simply put, a revolution in videogames.  This is the first true, fully 3D go nearly anywhere game.  Mario has his standard moves such as walk, run, climb, and of course jump.  But he has many new moves are well.  The 3D movement feels so natural and the controls are so precise.  The button layout is great and the controls are very responsive.  The camera is just perfect… it follows you when you want it to or allows you to move it free when you wish.  The levels are huge and their designs are excellent.  Some of the most brilliant level designs ever which is exactly what Mario game should have.  You'll meet new some old friends and enemies as well as some new ones.  There are many levels and each one has 6 objectives.  Every completed objective gets you a star.  You'll need these starts to progress in the game and for the final showdown with Bowser.  The game's challenge picks up at a perfect rate and there are never any difficulty spikes.  The game is pretty long and there are many extras to unlock.  This really feels like a Mario platformer.

The game looks beautiful.  The levels have some really nice designs and are very big.  The characters all look great.  The colors and textures, all reminisce of classic Mario games.  The water, buildings, characters, and platforms all look great.  There are some minor graphical problems here and there.  The biggest is polygon breakups, but even that's rare.  Some of the textures are a little fuzzy as well.

The sound great and the stereo quality is very nice.  The sound is always on sync and never off.  The sound effects themselves sound nice.  The music is classic Mario with some new twists.  For the most part, the music is noting to complain about but some tracks could've been left out.

Final words: Mario has done it again… a revolutionary gameplay experience.
