Visually, this game does a great job. The very moody and atmospheric world is wonderful to look at. The fully 3D world is great and pretty smooth. There are some polygon break-ups and the textures are a bit jagged, but nothing that ruins the visuals. There are few FMVs, which are well done. Most of the game unfolds through real time graphics. The character and monster design are very unique and work great with the game.
The game sports some wonderful sound. The sounds effects are great and are dead on accuracy. The audio tracks are very nice and very fitting to the environments. The transition of the music goes through nicely.
The gameplay is extremely good. You have your normal stats and they get better as you fight. There is a pretty basic magic system with distinctive spells. You can get a wide variety of weapons and armor and as you equipment. Your equipments stats are affected by the enemies you interact with. Your equipment gets weaker and has to be refurbished from time to time. You can combine weapons and armor as well to create new ones. You have to fight strategically and take many things into consideration (such as RISK).The game is rather linear; you can't really go outside the series of dungeons, yards, forests, etc. There is some exploration and puzzle solving involved but noting too heavy. The game is a bit on the difficult side but is extremely fun. For an action RPG it is not that long, about 30 hours on average to finish. But there are many weapons and armor to refine. After you finish it, there is a plus mode replay the game.
The story is great. There are many plot twists and interesting elements. You will be very intrigued by the comic book style of revealing the story. The main character is the victim of the evil plot and his mysterious past. As you play, you will learn more about the corruption and conflict of the story.
Final words: A wonderful RPG experience like no other.
