Gameplay (10) - So how is the gameplay you ask? Well it is the best gameplay ever before in a wrestling game. They use the ISP system which allows you to grapple, put them into a certain situation, and your opponent needs precise timing in order to reverse the move. You can do the same against your enemy as well. This is truly one of the most realistic wrestling games ever.
Story Mode (9) - The story mode is fabulous. You are a legend (or a created wrestler) and you must please promoters in 5 different U.S. Regions in order to get title shots. You get a specific storyline which could tell who may disrupt your match. After the 5 regions, well you will find out then. Best story mode ever in a wrestling game as well. All it needs is backstage fights and talking between wrestlers and more in depth storylines and it will be an easy 10/10!
Audio/Video (9) - I couldn't help, but give it a 9, the graphics are cartoony giving each legend a larger than life look, but stil lthe graphics are superb. Very good graphics, maybe they could aim for more serious ones next time?
Sound, beautifully imported into this game. Great jobe on Acclaims part. They had Jimmy Hart remix some songs that were in the WWF and directly take the old WCW songs. They added awesome entrances, much better than last years awful themes. Great sound, grunts, chairs clanging, bats breaking, Ladders falling, cage rattling, everything is there.
Create a Legend (8) - I am rather disappointed with Acclaim in their CAW. I mean there is barely any hairstyles which is a huge disappointment. Now they did add more faces then just one old face everytime last year. This CAW is much better than last years, but a long way to go. The stencil mode allows you to create a tatoo, facepaint, etc... from scratch! This is an awesome feature to the CAW.
Match Selections (10) - Great matches to choose from. The good ole days cage matches when you had to break the door down and even ladder matches. And one of my favorites, in career mode, the $15,000 body slam match with Big John Studd. Sweet selections even a 8 man tag match!!
Difficulty (10) - This game is hard I tell you! It is a tough game once you battle to the very last region in career mode. The AI raises greatly, no longer can you simply hit your opponent with a weapon every time, they start to reverse a lot more. One of the hardest wrestling games on the market right now.
Replayability - (9) Well I mean you have plenty of unlockables, story mode is long, so why isn't it a 10! You have 65 wrestlers to beat the game with! Well I will tell you, it gets boring after the first time you beat it, trust me. Maybe if they could make the storylines a lot different from another, have talking with other wrestlers and backstage fights. You need those to make the game more exciting!
To buy or to rent? - Finally, one of the most important things you should know. I say buy this game! Any true wrestling fan will enjoy this game! Buy it!
Finishing Touches: This game overall is a little worse than No Mercy because No Mercy had better storylines, and a weight detection!! Legends of Wrestling III Needs to have a weight detection in order to top No Mercy. Once it does, LOW III will be the best game out there in the wrestling department. This game had an average of 9.28 rounded up to a 9.3 so I rounded it down to 9. So oevrall it is a very good game! So Brother, go out there and go take your vitamins, say your prayers, and go get Legends of Wrestling II!
