It is quite a shame that I had to rate this game as low as I did. Being a big fan of the SNES and N64 versions, I rented this, presuming that it would continue to come out with as many new ideas as the N64 version (in comparison to the original). Well, it didn't. The team idea was really the only new concept brought forth with this game. The amount of hidden cars and characters was an okay improvement, but as a whole, it was Mario Kart 64 with better graphics. Unfortunately, as far as fun goes, Mario Kart 64 comes out on top; the levels for Battle Mode were far more 3D in the N64 version; these battle levels were incredibly flat.
