I can guarantee that this is an experience like no other as this is quite possibly the only or one of the very few RPGs that will make you laugh, cry and best of all: Think. This game is simply marvelous in absolutely every aspect and I can promise you that you will be blown away by this game.
To start, the game's story is very profound and intense as the story can become very gripping to say the least. There's so much to the story that the story itself becomes the primary essence of the game. Without getting into too much detail, you start off as the Cloud who joins a group called Avalanche. Your first objective is to destroy Mako reactors which collects life source from planets to create energy. This obviously leads to the continued deterioration of the planet if the Mako reactors are left untouched, and what's even more serious on your agenda is the peril that will be set on earth with an encroaching Meteor. Of course there will be many characters that will be introduced causing increasingly more important and confusing plot points to develop.
This game offers an unforgettable cast of heartwarming and deep characters that is truly a gem as you'll find yourself concerned with each character's situation. This game is after all THE game with the all but legendary Cloud and Sephiroth and they truly deserve that honor placed upon them. You'll also love Aeris' care-free attitude, Barret's hard-hitting attitude, Cid's temper tantrums, and Tifa's deep concern for Cloud and of course, her concern for others as well.
Ah...the wonderful Materia System. Materia is reduced but strong Mako energy that allows you to cast spells and with an advantageous armor, you'll be able to customize specific materia to your advantage in battle because how you combine two elements can be very beneficial in tough battles throughout the game. There is also the ATB gauge that determines how fast and how many times turns your character will have in battle. It's of the utmost importance that you find ways to manipulate the ATB gauge to your full advantage as it can be the decisive factor in specific battles. Limit Breaks are a true perk in this game as they are just stunning to watch and each character has their own unique and deadly limit breaks that are imperative to battle.
Graphics are simple dazzling for a PS game. The characters in battle are significantly more detailed and refined compared to the blocky aspect of characters on the field. The FMVs are nothing short of a masterpiece as each FMV will bring out some kind of astonished response from you.
Oh, let's not forget about the deeply-moving music in this game. From the battles to the many surprises in store, the music makes this game so much more touching and intense in a emotional respect. The music was thoughtfully planned out as each scene had the perfect audio/music to go along with it. I've never heard such stirring music in any game as no game comes close to this.
I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute of this game as I did because there's no way any type of gamer should pass up on a masterpiece such as this. You'll find yourself drowned in the emotional story and characters before you know it.
