Yet another masterpiece by Square as everything from the refreshingly distinct battlesystem to the fascinating story is all beautifully conveyed in this RPG. With that said, welcome to the world of Final Fantasy.
The story, like all previous Final Fanatsy games, is what makes this great RPG even better. The story starts off as Squall who is to complete a mission in order to become a member of the elite task force, SeeD. The story will be filled with twists and turns as there's also a "Love Conquers All" factor and other sub-plots that adds to the already engrossing story. Did I forget to mention the broad cast of charatcers? There's your wonderful goofball, a self-proclaimed anti-social loner, a misuderstood rebel and many others.
The gameplay features the Junction System in which you "junction" magic to your stats. In the beginning, you have to draw magic to be able to transfer it to your stats, so I had a lot of trouble defeating monsters as I didn't take advantage of the options given to me. Through the card game, you can gain valuable cards in which you can transform it to different types of magic. The stronger the card, the stronger the magic. If you take advantage of the card option, then you'll be well on your way to mastering the Junction System.
All I can say is that the graphics are nothing but spectacular as the cut-scenes are beautifully rendered. The background and cut-scene music are absolutely ear-candy as they are appropriately fitted with everything else.
This game is truly wonderful if you can appreciate and learn to take advantage of the Junction System as this Final Fantasy stands out amongst the rest.
