This game can be addicting as it offers lacking but just enough gameplay to keep you amused...even if it's just for a little while.
This is my first Jet Ski racing game so I can't compare it to other related games but I can tell you that the game offers you an assortment of characters that you can choose from with their own unique personalities. One of the few but best aspects of this game is the fact that the levels are huge so you'll have plenty of racing to do. The huge levels also results in the fact that it's harder to maintain your desired position in the race as the game has a good degree of difficulty. It's actually frustrating at times too because I went through the race at #1 only to end up at the bottom of the barrel because of the sensitive tight turns that caused me to spin. One slight spin and you'll find yourself behind in the race. There are, of course, shortcuts that can lead you to victory but the trick is to find them and actually complete it successfully.
The gameplay offers plenty of various tricks which are surprisingly easy to complete because it offers no challenge which isn't really anything to complain about. There are specific specialties on the field that allows you to increase your boost gauge. The boost gauge is a definite necessity as it allows you to go faster and complete soaring tricks in the air. There are ramps placed all over the fields that allow you to perform these tricks as these tricks are a factor in your overall score. Other than that, there's no other gameplay factors worth mentioning as that's pretty much the basis of the gameplay.
The graphics are pretty smooth except it lacked deeper detail in areas I thought were necessary. Everything was nicely done with the exception of the water. The water effects are probably the most important graphic factor but the water department came up short. The water seemed really thick as the waterfall and splash effects were nothing special. Throughout the races, you'll hear some trash talk but they didn't affect me in the least bit.
Despite the sub-par gameplay, the game offers a good challenge that'll make you determined to win.
