Winning Eleven Six will make you forget FIFA ever existed. As revoultionary FIFA was on the Sega Genesis, WE6 takes you exponentially to the next level of sports gaming. Playing WE6 actually makes you feel like you are playing soccer once you become familiar with the controls. It's like playing soccer without the sweat and the weather and unfortunately without the great exercise though. Simply put the game makes you think on the field as a member of the team and as the team as a whole at the same time. I have been a FIFA fan for many years and I never write reviews because I always thought there were enough opinions out there, but I could not resist to chime in on this one. Although a completely different genre, WE6 is to sports games as Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the N64 was to RPG's, new innovative, deep, sophisicated and just plan fun. The onkly big difference is that WE6 will blow you away and intimidate just by the sheer number of moves and controls that will not be intuitive if you have been trained on the EA line of games. I take learning WE6 as a worthy challenge. But from the few hours I have logged into the game, I see that the controls will become intuitive even if you have to use the directional pad, R1 through L2 buttons and the top buttons to complete a move. This may seem awkward at first but this combined with excellent responsiveness, unbelieveable ball physics, and smooth animations makes the feel of being on the pitch feel real. No wonder this game is number one as Pro Evolution 2 in the football nations of the world. When it comes for soccer, Konami sure followed up ISS98 in such an incredibly game. If you remotely like soccer and want a game that gives you the feel of actually playing and least strategically (if not physically), this is the game to have. All other sport franchises should look out if Konami plans to bing their game design to other sports. Such efforts would be welcomed and would seriously question EA philosophy of being too arcady. WE6 is like fine wine that kicks butt if you know what you are tasting while FIFA is just a can of near flat RC cola that has little fizz and excitement in comparison. FIFA licensing officials should review their agreements with EA and see when EA's license expires. Between a franchise license and excellent game design, a vastly superior game in WE6 would just become a soccer fan's Nirvana.
