XBox Live saves the day for this FPS. Not to say that the single-player adventure is without merit, but mixing it up Halo-style with people from all over the world is the true attraction for plopping down your hard-earned $50.
The gameplay is smooth and the graphics are decent enough. However, this game does have its drawbacks. The XBox Live gameplay is phenomenal, but you can only do it solo from your box. Couldn't they have at least allowed split-screen play for two on one box without sacrificing too much else? Apparently not. So, if you are like me and like to mix it up on the weekend with a buddy or two against the world, then this game won't allow it. Another small issue is the offline co-op mode. It is great to play for hours with a friend, conquering Nazis and such, and then save your progress for another day. Too bad- when you go to pick up the action again you will be starting over.
Overall, this is a solid shooter. Good gameplay and camera, good maps to roam, and of course the online play. Could it have been better? Sure, but every game cannot be Halo or Splinter Cell. If you have XBox Live, then buy it. If you don't, then rent it first.
