A warning to strategy gamers:
Do not buy this game just because you liked Advance Wars. There are two things you must know about Fire Emblem:
1. It has a great epic story, BUT: You will often confirm more lines of dialogue than you will actually issue orders during the battle. I am not exaggerating: You might easily press the A-button more than 80 times, just confirming dialogues connected to one map. You can skip the dialogues, but you might actually miss important hints.
2. If one of your main units is defeated in battle, this means "game over" and you have to restart the map. If one of your side unit dies, it is lost for ever. Which usually means that you restart the map. Note that battles can take quite a while. Note that there is a rather strong element of chance involved in the damage calculations. Note that you will have to actively check the weapon of every enemy you encounter since it might not be the one you'd expect from the units picture (e.g. a mounted unit carrying a sword is represented by a mounted unit with a lance).
If you are still interested in the game, you will find it a well crafted strategy RPG with great battle mechanics.
