To give you a little background, I am an avid golfer and have played every golf simulation on the PC and XBOX to date. My favorite up until this day was PGA 2000 for the PC... well, everything has changed now. This game is almost perfect... I have to give it a 9.8 out of 10. The two main complaints I have read about this game is that you can't change your player's ability level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) after you have created them and there are not enough player models available. I think Microsoft made a great decision on not making the skill level of your player changeable... here is why... as you compete, you earn money to upgrade your character's skill attributes (power, putting, control, scrambling). If a person was to play on beginner and get there player maxed out... then automatically switch him to advanced, then this wouldn't be a true test. Especially, since the players you develop offline are the same players you play with on XBOX Live. What an ingenious idea and I wish more games followed this model. As far as not enough models, if you want to play dress up dolls... then I would guess this would be true, but the gameplay is what matters... and it is superb. Only reason I didn't give this a 10 out of 10 is because you can't choose a specific area to drop your ball when you go in a hazzard... it drops it automatically for you... not a real big deal but a slight oversight on Microsoft's part. Overall, the best game I have played on XBOX -- if you have LIVE and love golf... it is a must have. The online ranking system is great and I can't wait for the tourney's hosted on XSN... go get it!
