Metroid Prime has to be THE most overrated game of all time. I have played the heck outta this game and I was very disappointed.
First of all the actual storyline is not very in-depth at all and doesn't really make the game all that interesting.
Second of all the actual graphics are pretty good and the special effects are nice but graphics alone does not save this game.
I think one of the main problems with this game is the lack of freedom they give you. The levels are quite small and linear. Not only that but the enemies do not have free-form A.I. and instead they have scripted A.I.(You can only hit them here, when they do this certain action, at this certain time sort of thing most platformers use this for their enemies) which makes for quite a boring fight especially since you can just lock on to any enemy and fire and forget.
The controls are quite horrid and thats mainly due to the horrible design of the Gamecube controller. I the c-stick would of actually been a real analog stick instead of jsut a nob than it would of made the look/strafe and move a lot better and less quirky.
Metroid Prime would have been a lot better if they implicated some sort of co-op mode or multiplayer Deathmatch modes as well, it would of given this game more replayability seeing as it has none.
