I feel sorry for anyone who thinks this game requires any skill to play. Tekken and the Soul Caliber series have much more moves, way cooler characters, and actually reguire skill to play. DOA3 falls in the same category as the Bloody Roar games(crappy). It is a cheaply made game with nothing extra to offer. It does offer good graphics just like DOA Online will be. The new online game will have generic reused characters from there past games, wow wee!! Sure makes me want to buy it, NOT!! DOA3 is a very average game with alright graphics. It's a pity there is very little replay value for the single player. The combo system kinda reminded me of playing MK: Deadly Alliance which is a lot of button mashing and a hell of a crappy game.
Pros
-you can trade it off and get Soul Caliber 2
-good graphics
-multi level arena fighting
-a good practice mode
-reversals(usually recycled throws)
-not much clipping
-good hit dectection
-makes for a nice looking coaster
-new it's under 30 bucks
Cons
-a button masher
-no really good moves
-graphics are too cartoonish
-single player gets boring within an hour then you'll ask yourself why you bought this game.
-combos are too easy and repetitive
-AI is weak sometimes
-You get nothing for finishing the game. Well, except a really short movie
-Story mode is too short
-too few characters
-a few characters are very unbalanced
-there are no original characters
-the big bearded wrestler looks so stupid
-some of the enclosed areas are too small
-no eight way run like SC2
-you don't have to play it
-too few game modes
-reversals are just reused throws
This game is only good playing with a group of friends. Single player offers nothing and gets boring very fast. I just got this game and I am playing the Soul Caliber(DC) instead of it. That must tell you something. 6/10.
