KOTOR is an all around great game but it has its flaws as usual. I can't believe people would rate this game a 10. This game's good but not that good. Don't get me wrong I love this game but it has flaws. I am an experienced gamer so I see all the good and the bad points.
The Pros
-KOTOR has great character building and lots of items to choose from.
-There are massive landscapes and you immerse yourself in them PLENTY of times.
-The light sabre action will remind you of Episode 1 (it's that good)
-You can equip your squad with just about anything if their attributes permit it.
-You must rely on certain teammates to do certain things.
-KOTOR allows you to beat objects multiple ways so the replay value is very high.
-You can do things or make decsions that will turn you to the Dark Side.
-The Swoop racing, card game, and the gun turret. Kind of mini games that keep the game fresh. You can also win lots of credits.
-Overall interaction between your character and the citizens you choose to talk to.
-The plot is very good and the characters' backgrounds tie into the story well. It gives you a sense of purpose in the game.
-The voiceovers are pretty good.
-You can have a double bladed light sabre, a regular light sabre, and you can even use two, one in each hand. Light sabres are upgradeable also.
-Lots of suprise battles and monsters to deal with.
-The abiltity to use force powers is a great asset in the game.
-Your teammates have good AI when your not controlling them in a battle.
-This game has good graphics but not great.
Cons
-Lots of walking and exploring worlds over and over again.
-LOADING all the time.
-My character got stuck inside another. I had to reload the game when that happpened.
-Usually before something loads it saves too. But not always, so when you think it saved and you die you start from the last autosave point. SAVE lots.
-You will encounter the same face on different characters over and over again.
-The alien voices are very annoying to listen to.
-On default difficulty this game is way to easy. Your character gets to be almost god like. You will cut down the bosses pretty easily.
-Your charcter models aren't as sharp as the should be for an Xbox title.
-When you're in your hideout you can't customize your other characters weapons/items.
-You almost seem bogged down with quests.
-The puzzles are way too easy to the average gamer.
-Sometimes you might use computer spikes by accident and then you will find out you don't have enough to accomplish a goal.
-Is there a HUTT in every bar???
-How come they are using the same technology if this game was set thousands of years before Episode One????
-Blasters are almost useless.
-Your inventory will get HUGE.
-Sometimes the controls do not respond.
-I wish the map screen shows all the maps you have and how they are connected. Because you seem like you are getting lost but you're actually not. CONNECT the maps.
Well, it's a great game. The flaws don't affect gameplay too much though.
It's worth a buy for sure. This game will take you 4-5 times longer to finish than Baldurs Gate. I give this game with all its glory and flaws a well respected 8.0.
