Oh, Katamari Damacy, how weird and fun thou art! Katamari Damacy is indeed one of the strangest and most innovative games ever made. But unlike Parappa the Rapper and Space Channel 5 (both of which I love dearly), anyone and everyone ought to love Katamari; its sense of fun and frivolity isn't just for a niche group. Where Parappa, Space Channel 5 and some other Japanese weird games will only appeal to a select crowd, Katamari should entrance nearly anyone who plays it, regardless of their age or tastes.
In the game, you are a tiny little Prince who must roll a sticky ball around and collect things (batteries, dominoes, pens, on up to cats, dogs and even people!) that shape and increase the size of the ball. That's really it, and it's fantastic. Katamari Damacy was released for the paltry sum of $20 brand new, there's no excuse not to give it a shot!
