Finally a Fire Emblem arives outside of japan, one of the hardest strategy series the consoles has ever seen continues on the GBA, but is it still as challenging?
The awnser is simple: no, it is not as challenging as the SNES Fire Emblems, not even close. However the gameplay is still as good and the game is still fun enough, so why even care?
One of the best things in Fire Emblem is the fact that if a team member dies, he's dead, don't think of reviving him, or even seeing him again, keeping that in mind you can't create new team members to fight till their death. instead the game gives you a chance to earn new team members every once and a while, like a bad-guy who can be added to your team by talking to him with a certain character, or a neutral person who can join your team. However they could die before you talk to them.
The maps have decreased in size since the last time i played a Fire Emblem game, and allot more text has been added, so the battles-story ratio has taken a complete u-turn. Still the battle system remains the same: counters, magic, horses everything is still here, including the defence and evasion on each square.
If you loved Advance Wars and want more story, or if you simply love Fire Emblem this is the game fore you. If you don't like long pieces of text every 10 minutes, just ignore this title, but you will miss out on a great game.
