When i first saw Gitaroo-Man i had my doubts about it, but at the same time it looked interesting, so i thougth i'd give it a quick rent wich soon turned into 2 weeks.
Gitaroo-Man is about a young boy called U-1 who finds out he's the legendary Gitaroo-Man after his dog turns into a robot and gives hi a Gitaroo. In other words it's a whole lot of insane stupidity wich is just an excuse to bring some great music.
The music in Gitaroo man simply blows games like Um Jammer Lammy an Parappa the Rapper away, the reason i can remember the music in Parappa and Um Jammer Lammy because of the jokes in them, while i can't remember any lyrics (since they are hardly there) for Gitaroo-Man i still know every song 100%.
Instead of just having to just press the buttons, Gitaroo-Man will also have you push the analog in the right direction (you follow a line across the screen), if you don't do this, pressing the right button at the right time won't have any effect.
The thing is the line you have to follow isn't a straight one, and moves around allot.
Next to that you will need to 'dodge attacks' by simply pressing the right button at the right time, only this time there will be insanly much buttons to press.
The best part of Gitaroo-Man is the multiplayer, in wich you play against each other, player 1 has to do the exact same parts of the music as in the single player, while player 2 has to play the computers part.
Gitaroo-Man only has 1 real probem: the graphics, it's not that they are awful or anything, but they get in the way and are way to distracting: while you are having a hard time pressing a whole lot of buttons in a really short period of time lights are flashing and the camera is moving around, wich makes it hard to see what you need to press next.
Gitaroo-Man is one of those games that feel a whole experience, where you feel special everytime you beat a level, or annoyed when you fail level 3 on Masters Play again.
