In these times more and more clones appear, clones that have nothing original and lame jokes, or clones that bring a few new things in that will be used in the next couple of clones.
However Viewtiful Joe is different, You can compare it with those old hero-type fighting games from the snes/genesis, but then with a lot more style, jokes, characters, moves and powers.
In this VJ you need to beat you enemies up as stylish and cool as possible, think about things like: first dodge, then give a few hits and hit him in slow-motion to send him flying backwards at the other, then also beat them up still in slow-motion. By doing so, you gain V-points which is used to buy more health and moves. The effects that the VFX (Viewtiful Effects, which is your special power) can only be described as Viewtiful: At slow-mo colors go trough each others, at Mach-Speed it looks like there's a really, really strong wind, and in zoom lines around the screen appear, which make it look like one of those 'fast movement' effects that you see allot in anime series.
You can use these powers only when you VFX bar is full, as soon as it's empty you become Joe again, and take double damage, but the VFX bar fills up fast enough for you to avoid any real danger.
Also, don't think this as one of those easy games you tend to see, most people already have a lot of problems beating Adult (normal), personally I found Adult too easy, but I'm used to really, really hard games (like the old Megaman games on the NES).
A game made for anyone who enjoys good jokes, hard games, super hero's or just really really great and original games. Should you hate hard games that challenge you, avoid it.
Really worth buying, everyone has to play this Viewtiful game at least once.
